Almond Toffee
Ingredients:
2 cups sliced almonds
2 Tablespoons light corn syrup
1 cup sugar
1 cup butter, softened, plus two additional tablespoons for greasing
Directions:
- Line 13x9 inch pan with foil and grease using 1 Tablespoon butter
- Grease heavy saucepan using 1 Tablespoon butter
- In saucepan, combine butter, sugar, and corn syrup
- Bring to boil over medium-high heat, stirring constantly. Cook until golden brown, usually 3-4 minutes.
- Remove from heat.
- Stir in almonds, then spread in 13x9 inch pan and smooth with spatula
- Place pan in refrigerator until toffee is firm
- Break into pieces to serve
