Crescent Nut Rolls

Dough Ingredients:

1 cup margarine or butter
2 eggs
1/4 cup sugar

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 small cake or 1 tablespoon dry yeast

1 teaspoon vanilla

4 cups sifted flour

1/2 cup sour cream

Filling Ingredients:

2 pounds walnuts, ground fine
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
1 cup sugar

Directions:

  1. Melt butter or margarine.  Combine melted butter with sugar and eggs into large mixing bowl.  Crumble yeast into mixture.
  2. Add sour cream, vanilla, flour, and salt.
  3. Place in refridgerator for two hours
  4. In seperate bowl, combine filling ingredients (ground nuts, melted butter, and sugar)
  5. Roll refridgerated dough into small balls.
  6. Roll balls in granulated sugar.
  7. Spread thin layer of nut filling on dough
  8. Roll up, jelly roll fashion, and pinch ends together.
  9. Place on cookie sheets, shaping into crescents.
  10. Bake at 350 for 10 minutes
