Parkersburg is located on the beautiful Ohio River and is the county seat of Wood County, West Virginia. The area is rich with early American history, particularly Blennerhassett Island and its restored mansion. Nearby towns include Marietta, Ohio, the first settlement in Ohio; Belpre, Ohio, home of Lee Middleton's Original Dolls; Williamstown, West Virginia, home of Fenton Art Glass. While in the Parkersburg area, find a Pizza Place location. The Pizza Place is the real stuff, with authentic thick-crust Sicilian pizza and tasty calzones. The Third Street Deli is popular with the noon-time lunch crowd and is convenient to many downtown attractions. We also enjoy Don Emilos and El Ranchero when in the mood for Mexican. Just north of Parkersburg is the village of Vienna, home of Holls Chocolate. Stop by the Hardees in Belpre, Ohio for its scenic overlook of Blennerhassett Island. It's also not a bad stop for a burger and milkshake. Find books about Fenton Art Glass at Amazon.com Find books about Blennerhassett Island at Amazon.com |
